WHO MAY APPLY
Full-time students who are a child of an active member, a stepchild of an active member, a legally adopted child or spouse of an active member may apply. Applications will be available in July of each year for all children or spouse, as defined above, of active members who had made contributions to the Scholarship Fund in the preceding 12-month period. Only one application will be accepted per dependent each year.

HOW TO APPLY
After July 1, 2008 you can contact the Operating Engineers at 111 Zeta Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238-2811, or call Vikki at 1-800-231-8071 ext.133 to request a Scholarship Application Packet. To be eligible for the Scholarship Award, applications must be received (not postmarked) by August 18, 2008. The Documentation from the institution the child is attending, confirming their full-time attendance and relationship to an active member, must accompany each application received. All applications are subject to verification. Failure to cooperate with the verification process will be grounds for denial.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Scholarships will be awarded to every eligible applicant for post-secondary education. The total amount of available money in the scholarship fund as of August 18, 2008 after all necessary expenses will be equally distributed among all of the eligible candidates. The amount and number of awards are subject to change by the independent committee. Scholarships will only be distributed directly to the applicable University in two equal distributions (one for each semester).
